So very good to hear from you! And I really appreciate your kind thoughts-- If anyone knows what we are going through losing Charlie and how much one can come to love a four-legged companion it is you guys. I still miss her every single day! She was such a light! Thanks for thoughts about my mom too-- what a shitty few months! Please please tell Jenni i say hi--i have been thinking about her and waffle and miss the pair terribly!

Hi Sandra!! I *finally* came across your blog... I wish I had seen you before you left. I am *so* sorry about Charlie. :( We really feel terrible about what you guys had to go through, especially since Charlie seemed full of beans every time we saw you, and there was no indication that she was ill. And I am sorry to hear about your mom passing away, as well! :(

We hope that you're okay, and not freezing in Canada. We've had beautiful, sunny weather in Cape Town. (Smartie sends lots of licks and barks your way, by the way.) I really enjoyed reading your blog... your last post about Charlie was so touching. I cried with laughter at the photographs of Charlie and the cats - fortunately, I wasn't drinking coffee because it would have run out of my nose. (And then I read your post about the questions you would have asked your mom, and I was laughing hysterically when I saw the photo of your mom's cat.) I hope that you keep writing, I really enjoyed reading your posts.

All the best,
Alicia

Hello Marilyn

Thank you so much for you email. It is gratifying to hear from fellow dog lovers. I still think of Charlie every day-- she died at the young age of nine and the cancer was a complete surprise. It is people like you who remind me of how wonderful the dog community is and how much I miss being a part of it. Thanks so much and I hope you and Snowie have lots of walks together!
