Visiting Hours are Over People! (Canine-callers still welcome)

As if it isn’t humiliating enough to be living with a cat and two kittens who continue to use me as their own personal pillow…

Oh the humiliation!

…now they are getting all the attention that rightfully belongs to me! Ever since mom got the stupid rodents (a.k.a kittens) we have been inundated with feline-loving friendlies and neighbours coming to see them!

First our neighbour Jelena and her daughter Mia came to see the monsters

(But I do forgive Mia as just last week she read me a story –and no one has ever done that for me before! Everyone always assumes us dogs aren’t readers–so untrue–we just need someone to turn pages for us)

Next, Cathy came over with my friend Midnight to visit the kittens (I could tell Midnight was so not impressed!)

If anything, Midnight looks a little afraid of the kittens. Good for your Midnight! You should be scared. They are EVIL and I am sure they are plotting my demise! And the demise of all canines!

At least we got a good walk in first with our pal Waffle

But then she too fell under the kittens’ spell and spent all her time playing with them! (How can she betray her species like that! But she is a puppy so I will forgive her this transgression–she gets one free pass!)

Et tu, Bella?

Dear readers, despite my best efforts, I have not yet been able to come up with a good plan to get rid of the kittens (though several people have offered wonderful suggestions about putting them outside because, with their oversized ears, the wind is sure to blow them away! But I just can’t come up with the perfect plan, I think it is because I am not getting enough sleep. For some reason I have not been sleeping well…

  1. Linda Campbell says:

Oh, Charlie. How sad that the kittens are taking so much attention away from you:( But, when I look at your pictures what I see is two kittens who simply adore you! Maybe you can be their role model and eventually they will become more like adorable you. All your friends will soon tire of making of the kittens, and you will be the center-stage star again. Just give it a little time, Charlie, and I’m sure things will work out so you will be able to sleep better.

P.S. It looks like the kittens are well on their way to looking more like you…… their ears seem to be getting longer already!

  2. Grandma says:

Charlie, you have a legion of adoring fans who might be distracted for the moment by the new arrivals. Not to worry.
    You are still #1.
